30 Days!!!!

Oh!!! Look at my counter! Only 30 days left!!!!!!!

I may pee my pants.

I've still got a lot of details to take care of, but everything seems a little less overwhelming this week than it did last week. Weeeee! We're so close!! :)

I just called Villa Italia to add a cake stand rental to our order (fab!!!). Tonight, I plan on ordering the final things off the internet that must be ordered. Tomorrow, I'll pick up my tiara and veil and then swing up to Clifton Park to meet the Wham and meet the florist. Hopefully, Alex and I will be able to go get our Marriage License on Friday (!!!!!!). Then, my trial hair and makeup appointment is on Saturday - can't wait! I need to call the DJ back on Monday to schedule a time to meet and talk about what music we want for our ceremony and important dances as well as sketch out a plan for the night. That'll be a fun meeting. :)

My goal is to have all the responses for the wedding by July 6th - a week after the official due date. I know that no one gets 100% of their responses back by the due date, so I'm allowing for a week to make any necessary follow up calls. After I get the final head count, I'll be able to do up the seating chart and create the escort cards. I'll be working off of estimate numbers in the meantime to get a head start on the favors, programs, etc.

Then, of course, there is stuff to do for the honeymoon - confirm everything, sketch out a plan for our days, make any dinner reservations, look into seeing a show on the West End, reserve a Spa time at the Hotel... But my Dad suggested that I delegate all that to Alex so I'll talk with him about that tonight. It'll be nice for him to surprise me with Honeymoon details. :)

So yeah - I'm busy. But it's really, really, really fun!! And I can't wait for it all to come together - I can't believe it's so close!!! It's so funny to think that a month from now at this exact time I'll have my hair and makeup completely done and will be getting into my wedding gown soon. And a month and 3.5 hrs from now I'll be married! Wow. Wow... Wow!!!! :)

Great Girly Fun!

Or, GGF for short. ;)

Last Wednesday, Amy called me and told me that she was going to pick me up on Saturday morning and take me to do something fun. I was intrigued - but she wouldn't give me any details. She just said that I should plan on being gone from about 11:30 until late afternoon and that I didn't have to dress up. I hung up and told Alex, "I think my bachelorette party is this weekend!"

Saturday morning dawned and I was very excited. So excited, in fact, that when I woke up at 7:30, I couldn't go back to sleep. I puttered around on my computer and fretted about the state of the apartment (though I didn't make any moves to clean it...). I tried to find the perfect "non-dressy" outfit. I settled on tan cargo capris, a brown tunic top and white tank underneath. I felt like I looked like a fatty, but Alex assured me that I didn't. Amy arrived - earlier than I expected - and promptly presented me with a strand of hot pink beads with a tiny set of pink fuzzy handcuffs along with a brilliantly sparkly tiara that said "bachelorette". She told me that we were going to have a "day of girly pampering" but that she didn't want me to miss out on the fun bachelorette schwag. I was delighted!

We got in her car and she drove me to Clifton Park where we went to Hair and Body Essentials - the day spa where we're getting our hair and makeup done for the wedding. Beck, Dodi, and Meredith met us there and we indulged in some fun spa treatments. The girls got me a fabulous massage as well as a manicure and pedicure. The massage was awesome! The massage therapist started by massaging my back, then she put hot towels on my back while she worked on my legs. The hot towels during a massage were a first for me - but they were great! They provided a wonderful feeling of warm pressure. After she took off the towels, she massaged my back again - wonderful! The manicure and pedicure were lots of fun because I got them done at the same time as the rest of the girls, so we were able to chat as we were pampered. Good times!

After the spa pampering, the girls took me out to lunch at Mangia's. I had my favorite dish there - balsamic marinated portobella (did I spell that right? I always spell that wrong...) mushroom salad with goat cheese (mmmmm.... goat cheese: my favorite thing ever) and pumpkin seeds. Sooooooo good. The bread was also freaking amazing. I mean, best bread ever. We each got a fab dessert - I got the chocolate lava cake, which was amazing. Amy did her part to keep the "bachelorette" theme alive: she passed out penis straws for us to drink our water through (very embarassing when the waiter came to refill our water glasses) and presented me with the Cosmo Kama Sutra book. She's adorable!

We parted ways with the rest of the girls after lunch and Amy and I ended up going to Saratoga to hang out for a while. Saratoga is so awesome. The weather was perfect and we really enjoyed walking around visiting some of the unique shops on Broadway. We went into Silverado, a jewelry store that I'd never ventured into before because of the Southwest sounding name. It turns out that store is amazing! There were some definite Southwest inspired pieces, but there were also some things that were just my style! Gorgeous chandelier earrings and all sorts of sparklies. I found a gorgeous triple strand freshwater pearl necklace that would go with my wedding gown so well! I couldn't decide right then if I wanted it, so the salesgirl offered to make a scan of it for me. She took a color scan of it and printed out a color copy and gave it to me with the store's card and the price written on it. I told her it was perfect - I could bring it right home to Alex and give him a not so subtle hint about my upcoming birthday! ;) Amy and I finished off the night with a light dinner at Brindisi's - we split 3 appetizers and got fun fruity martinis. It was really a great day!!

I'm so happy that I was able to spend some GGF time with "my girls". It had been so long since we'd been able to hang out and it was really a great time. THANKS LADIES!!!! :)
