I am starting to get so freaking excited for our wedding! Now that we're less than six months out, the to-dos on our planning checklists are coming fast and furious. I love to look at the things that we've been able to check off already:
- Booked a reception site.
- Bought a dress.
- Booked a photographer.
- Booked a DJ.
- Booked and met with Priest to plan ceremony.
- Sent Save the Dates.
- Created our Wedding Website.
- Chose Bridesmaid Dresses.
- Started our Wedding Registries at Target, Pottery Barn, and Macy's.
- Booked a florist and decided on wedding day flowers.
- Reserved blocks of rooms for out of town guests.
This weekend, I got to go to the bridal shop and try on my dress again. Well, not actually my dress yet. It was still the sample that I was trying on - my dress won't be in until probably April. But it's still a lot of fun trying on the sample because it happens to be just my size. I've shrunk about 12 lbs since I last tried on that dress (ROCK!) and I fit into it a little better this time. It looks soooooo awesome. SO amazing. I love it. So. Very. Much. I can't believe that I'm only going to be able to wear it one time. It's so not fair. It makes me want to make weekly appointments at the bridal shop to go and just wear it. That would make me crazy, I guess. Whatever. ;) The purpose of the appointment yesterday was to shop for accessories. I ended up finding a headpiece and veil that I loved but they just seemed so expensive that I didn't commit to them yet. I spent most of the day today scouring the internet to try and see if I could find those or something similar to them online cheaper, but it's so hard to tell if the details are the same. Alex thinks that I should just get the ones that I liked from the bridal shop because, while they are expensive and it does seem crazy to spend that much on something that I will wear once, he reasoned that, "everything is crazy and expensive about weddings." He has a point. We'll see. I think I'll continue to shop around online for a little while and see what I can find and if I don't find anything that I'm in love with an confident enough about to buy online, I'll just go back to the shop. Besides, that will give me an excuse to try on my dress one more time. ;)
