A Success!

The new alarm did the trick! I woke up this AM to the electronic melody of "Morning" (you know that song that they play in cartoons when they show the sun rising?). Of course, I did snooze for a bit, so, while I did make it to the gym, I didn't make it early enough to join the 5:45 Chisel class. When I got out of the locker room, they were just starting and I didn't want to come in a little late, especially when I haven't taken a Chisel class in over a year and I don't remember all of the equipment that I'm supposed to gather. So I just hit the elliptical machine for a half hour and then did some weight training. I'm very excited that I got there this AM - I rule! :)

You know it ain't easy...

I was listening to "The Ballad of John and Yoko" earlier today and thought that honeymooning in all of the places that they went to would be awesome: Paris, Gibralter, Amsterdam, and back to London. It could be the Ballad or Alex and Ali... ;) (Of course, it's never going to happen because that would require like a billion dollars and a billion days off of work, but it's fun to think about...)

Was a Good Night...

Had a pretty good night last night. Alex decided that he wanted Chinese food, so I was off the hook for preparing dinner, which was nice. ;) I played around on the Target website, doing a little pre-shopping and found this awesome alarm clock. I didn't get to Target last night to buy it yet (and again, missed the gym this AM), but I can't wait. (1) It's really cute. (2) It has weekday and weekend alarms - PERFECT! (3) It has the option to wake up to a melody like a cellphone ring. Is there anything more annoying than a cellphone melody? I don't think so. This baby is totally going to wake me up in the morning. It's all very exciting. ;)

I didn't get to Target last night because I was watching The Illusionist. Turned out to be an awesome movie. I mean, how could it not be, with Paul Giamati and Edward Norton? They rock. Of course, the movie is overdue to Blockbuster, so I'll be taking it back right away tonight when I'm over at Target picking up my alarm clock. ;)

My mom called me last night and we had a nice conversation. I had a question that I'd wanted to ask her, but I wussed out. Instead, I brought up the subject and sort of danced around what I wanted to ask her... Planted the seed. My strategy is to call her this weekned and ask the question that I'd really wanted to ask. Maybe I should have done it last night, though. RJ was out of town, so she was not so distracted on the phone as she usually is and was in a generally better mood. Crap. I hope I didn't blow my chance...

Ah well. Can't worry about it now. Must finish ironing my shirt for work. We're having someone come in from the local Business Review magazine to do an article on our company and our competitor. We're supposed to dress professionally today. Ah well, I guess no hoodie and jeans for me. ;) I dressed nice on Monday and actually got asked if I was going to interview somewhere that day. Guess that means that I should step up the dressing in general...

Grrr

It's been two days in a row now that I haven't gotten to the gym in the morning. SUCK. I've been getting to bed too late - I haven't been to sleep before 11 and I really need to be in bed by 10 in order to get up at 5:20 to get to the gym on time. I don't know what happens: I always try and get to bed early. Sunday night I couldn't get to sleep because Alex wasn't home yet (I have a hard time relaxing enough to get to sleep when he's not here) and last night I couldn't get to sleep because I was too upset about something. I think I need a new alarm clock. Mine isn't annoying enough. Perhaps if mine sounded more like the ones on commercials with that really shrill beeping sound instead of just sort of a light high pitched beep, it'd work better for me. Also, I'd love an alarm clock that you could set one alarm for Mon-Fri and not have to worry about turning it off for Saturday/Sunday mornings. I hate it when my alarm goes off at 5:20 on a Sunday AM when I could be sleeping in... That will be my quest for tonight: find the perfect alarm clock. ;)

I must say that I rule.

I have been rocking back at WW. I started going back to meetings on 1/6 and since then, I've lost 9.8 lbs. I am so freaking happy about that!!! I don't know if it's the fact that the wedding is less than 6 months away now and I really don't want to look like a fatty in my pictures or what, but the motivation has certainly returned. I'm super-psyched! Every week as Saturday approaches I get excited and nervous for my weigh-in... Will I lose weight this week? How much? I hope I don't gain! My goal was to lost 40 lbs and get back to my goal weight for the wedding and I'm already almost 30% of the way there. I hope I can keep this up!!! :)
