Whatever

So they determined that it was the water pump. Fabulous. The guy at the dealership wanted me to call the insurance adjuster so that he could determine if it was accident related. That was about 11am yesterday. I called the adjuster and left a message. He called me at about 3pm and I gave him the message. He called the dealership and then called me back: "The dealership told me that it's not accident related and that they do this repair on cars of your type and mileage all the time." I was sooooo annoyed because that meant that now I had to call the dealership back and tell them to go ahead with the repairs and it was already 3:30pm which meant that I wouldn't have my car back until the next day. GRRRRRRR. Why did the guy at the dealership waste my time by having me call the adjuster if he was just going to tell him that it wasn't accident related?! I could have had my car back yesterday. Instead, I had to wait another day and get to work at the buttcrack of dawn because Alex had to drop me off before work. Grrrrr.

Oh yeah, and now I have to pay them another $525 to get this fixed. That means that this month I'll have speant $1000 on my car.

Freaking kill me.

I Have No Luck.

SUX. I got my car back from Langan on Friday after they replaced my Engine Coolant Temperature sensor. They thought that was what was making my temperature light come on since the part I had in my car was an older one that was known to fail. They replaced that sensor and flushed my coolant system and charged me $200 and told me basically, "we hope that fixed it". Annoying. It didn't fix it. Alex and I were going to go to the movies that night and when we got on the highway, the temperature light came on again - right in the exact spot that it came on on Wednesday.

GRRRRRRRRR.

I got home and looked at the paperwork they gave me - "Sporadic faul recognized. Suspect 'Old Style' Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor creating problem. However water pump and thermostat also known to fail at this mileage." UGH. I started Googling VW New Beetles and saw that this problem is not uncommon. BLOWS. If it's the water pump, that's totally going to cost me $300 at least. Hopefully it's the thermostat, which I've heard is a very cheap repair. I have no idea how they know if it's one or the other, though. I'm driving the car to work today, since it's freezing out and it's a short distance - there's pretty much no way it's going to even warm up, let alone overheat. I'll call Langon from work and get an appointment to bring it in. Of course, Alex is on call every day this week so getting the car to a shop and me back home or to work or wherever is going to be annoying.

Just shitty. I've already spent $457 on my car this month because of my deductible for the repairs and the replacement of the sensor and I still can't freaking drive my car. It's really annoying that everything happened at once, too. I mean, I get into an accident and am without my car for weeks while it's getting repaired and then I get it back and now there's a problem with the cooling system. Mother of God! What else is going to happen?! Better not tempt fate. Fingers crossed that I can get the car to Langan without issue and that it ends up just being the thermostat that's the problem and that it gets fixed quickly!!
