Happy New Year!!

Ok. I know I'm a little late with the New Year greeting, but whatever. It's my first post of the New Year. :)

Christmas was Great!

Santa was very good to me. :) I got everything that I wanted, including a red KitchenAid stand mixer from Alex. I used it right away Christmas morning to make cookies. :) I also got plenty of gift cards so that I can go get some badly needed new clothes. :) I didn't get any "dud" gifts this Christmas - rock!

But... Christmas was also Wet

The leak repeated itself. GRRRR... This time, we were left with a hole in the ceiling in our bathroom above our toilet with plastic stapled around it and draped over our shower curtain rod so that the nasty black crap and rusty roof water that was coming through the hole could be directed into our shower. It happened Friday night before Christmas, and wasn't fixed until the next Wednesday. 6 more days with a not fully functional bathroom. To add insult to injury, we received a response from the property management company that was, frankly, insulting. I get so upset about the poor way that we've been treated... I just can't even think about it. I've got a plan of action moving forward, so I'm just going to stick to the plan and not worry about it for now.

It was a Great New Year's Eve!

We went to dinner at the Ripe Tomato and then out to the Parting Glass in Saratoga. At midnight, there were fireworks in the snow - it was amazing to watch. I've got a video clip, but I need to get it "web ready" before I post it. :) Alex and I cut the night short, though... We headed home just after the fireworks. The roads were really shitty and I wasn't feeling too great. I guess I had more to drink then I realized at the time. ;)

I've made some Resolutions...

The usual... Spend less... Eat less... Gym more... So far, I'm doing pretty well with all of them. Of course, we're only five days into the New Year, so... we'll see how I do. Oh, and I made another one: Post More. So... Stay tuned!

NEW YEAR - NEW ME.

Really, I really mean it this year.

I mean, I just checked my January posts from last year and they were all, "Yeah! I'm gonna be great!" and then I didn't post again last year until June. Yep. I did not rule last year.

BUT

I will rule this year. I will do eet...

I have this very cute little journal that is just for recording what you've eaten and how much you've exercized every day. I've been taking it to work with me and so far this year - all five days of it ;) - I've written down what I've eaten and stayed in line with the WW program. If I can keep this up for - how long does it take for something to become a habit? Fourteen days? Or is it thirty? Well, anyway... If I can make writing everything down a habit again, I should be in good shape to get in good shape.

Also, I've been planning on meeting a friend at the gym at least twice a week, and knowing that I'm meeting someone there will definitely keep me from blowing off the gym. Rock.

I'll do eet. I'll lose weight and be back to what I was the summer of 2004.

So... What do I have to lose? Well, I'll tell you. I'm currently at 182.5. EW. My WW goal weight is 153, so I have to lose at least 29.5 lbs. HOLY CRAP!! I'd LIKE to be at 148, so that means that my goal is to lose 34.5 lbs. Damn. That's a lot of losin' to do.

So... When should I be at goal? According to WW, a healthy weight loss is between 1 and 2 lbs a week. So that means that it'll take me between 17 and 35 weeks to get to the weight I'd like to be IF I'm a "good girl" every day. So this is the first week in January.... That means that the earliest I could be at my goal is sometime at the beginning of May and the "latest" would be the beginning of September. SO... I think that a nice, realistic goal to aim for would be to be at my goal weight by my birthday (July 17). It'd be nice to look the best I've ever looked when I turn 27. :)
