Awesome weekend.
So can I just tell you that last week, I was SO sick? I was completely out of it, like, the whole week. My head pounded, I was feverish, exhausted, my ears hurt and my right ear was totally blocked and ringing. Constantly. I finally went to the doctor on Thursday and was told that I had a sinus infection and an ear infection and was given a steroid nasal spray and antibiotics and told that I had to follow up in two weeks. Huh. Seemed overboardish... until my blocked ear cleared on Saturday and it was still ringing and sounded like a broken speaker. I panicked and Alex had to talk me down... "No, you're not going to go deaf, you're going to be fine. Keep taking your medicine." By Saturday afternoon, I was feeling 200% better.
Just in time to throw a dinner party. ;) We had Alex's friend, Joe, and his girlfriend, Katie, over for dinner that night. The menu: Creamy cauliflower soup, followed by braised beef short ribs with sesame snow peas and homemade mashed potatoes. For dessert, I made hidden mint cookies. I rock. ;) Dinner turned out really well - the ribs were SO good. We had a great time eating and then watching a movie while relaxing in the living room. SO nice to entertain in our apartment.
Sunday, we met Adam and Beth at their house and then went to Proctor's to see Chicago. The show was great, and afterwards we went to an Italian restaurant in Schenectady where we had the world's longest dinner. The service was terrible, but the food was decent and the company was great. Afterwards, we went back to Adam and Beth's house for drinks and to play with their enormous rotweiller, Guinness. :)
Anyway, so it was a great weekend!
Oh, and today totally rocked too because I finally felt like a human again at work since I'm not sick anymore and so had a great, productive day and then I came home and Alex surprised me with ring shopping at Northeastern Fine Jewelry. Good Times. ;)
