Happy Thanksgiving!!

I LOVE Thanksgiving - all the fun and food of a holiday without the stress (for the most part). Good times!! Alex and I will be having dinner with his family early in the day and then having dinner with my family later in the day. Coming from divorced parents, I'm used to having twice the turkey every Thanksgiving - and I don't think that Alex minds. ;)

I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday!!!

Enjoy this extremely odd picture in honor of the holiday:

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!! :)

A nice, quiet weekend...

It was such a nice, quiet, relaxing weekend...

Friday night, Alex and I went to see the new Harry Potter movie. Yep, we're crazy. But we were bored and really wanted to see it, so we braved the opening night crowds. The lines were SO long, but we ended up with good seats. I really enjoyed the movie - it was a lot of fun and the special effects were great. Alex didn't enjoy it as much because it differed from the book kind of a lot. That didn't bother me because I have absolutely no memory for details when it comes to books that I've read. I finish the book and forget almost everything about it within a few days. I actually enjoy that about myself because it makes rereading a book a lot of fun - it's like a whole new world every time.

Saturday morning, I had to take my car into the shop. I take my car to Hackel's VW on Central Ave - I like them... they seem very honest. Anyway, my car's check engine light came on and it needed an oil change. This was the negative part of the weekend... The check engine light wasn't a big deal - just a vacuum hose that came loose and needed to be reattatched (or something like that) which they did for free. BUT... when they went to do the oil change, they found that the bolt had become stripped. Apparently, it's something that happens with the model of oil pan in VWs. Wonderful. They told me that there's an updated model of oil pan that they could get from the dealer and install... but it's gonna cost me about $300. D'oh! The same thing happened with Beck's Jetta last year. It's just SO annoying that it's a defect in the design of the oil pan and I have to pay to get it replaced. I guess that's what I have a savings account, though, sadly, this is gonna wipe it out. Eeek!

We spent Saturday afternoon napping and being lazy until around 4, when we suddenly got the urge to clean. Alex did the dishes and took care of the trash, while I scrubbed the bathroom and tidied up the bedroom. We went to Revolution Hall that night to see Enter the Haggis. It was an awesome show, but pretty short.

Today was pretty relaxing. I went to visit Meredith and Eric to see their baby, Braeden. He was such a little peanut! He was born November 8th, so he's not even two weeks old yet. He's such a good little baby... he barely made a peep while I was there. Such a cutie!! Congrats, Mer and Eric!!! :) Alex and I met his parents for coffee and grabbed dinner, and then stopped at CVS on the way home to pick up cold meds for Alex. He's zonked out on the couch already... He needs to rest. Hopefully he gets over his cold soon. He's on call Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday this week and so has the potential to get very little sleep until next Monday. :( I've been sitting here at the computer since we got home, working on an outline for a training session that I've got scheduled first thing tomorrow morning. It should be a quiet week at work... only a three day week and then there's a four day weekend - yay!! :)

I've also been working on my wish list... I mean, Christmas is coming and all. ;)

Ending this boring post now. If you read it the whole way through, you get a gold star. ;)
