Beck & Kevin's Wedding - The Recap, Part II

Saturday: The morning came too soon... and it didn't look so nice outside. It was cold, dark, and rainy. Not exactly ideal Wedding weather... Nor was it ideal golf weather, but the guys went anyway. The girls all met for breakfast at the Halfmoon Diner. Mmmm... Diner-food breakfast... mmmm...

After breakfast, we went to a salon in the mall to get our hair done. No one was really sure what they wanted their hair to be - except for Beck and Dodi - so we poured over "idea books" with some of the most heinous, peacock looking hairstyles EVER in them. I mean, seriously, who WANTS their hair to look like they stuck their finger in a socket? Geez... Despite the last minute decisions on hair, everyone came out beautifully:

My hair:

Dodi's Hair:

Beck's Hair:

After our hair was beautious, we headed back to Beck's parents house where her mom had a huge spread of non-staining, non-gas-producing, and non-bad-breath-producing munchies. We did our makeup and got dressed and took pictures...

And then we got in the limo and were off to the church!

The wedding ceremony was beautiful...

...we took LOTS of pictures afterwards...

...and then we were back in the limo, off to the reception.

At the Vista, where the reception was, we hung out and took pictures while the guests enjoyed the cocktail hour...

And then we were announced and Beck and Kevin danced their first dance to Frank Sinatra's "The Way You Look Tonight"...

...the rest of the bridal party joined in halfway through...

...The Best Man did his toast...

...and then Dodi and I did ours...

My part was a Celtic Marriage Blessing:

May Joy and Peace surround you both,
Contentment latch your door.
May Happiness be with you now,
And God Bless You evermore.

We ate dinner - which was very good - and then it was time for the bouquet toss and the garter toss...

They cut the cake...

And then it was time to dance!

Bergeron's roommate had a bit too much to drink...

...and the party was paused for a little bit while the fire department worked on him. They took that time to have family pictures taken with the Bride and Groom in another room and when the patient was removed from the ballroom, we got right back to dancing.

It was really a great wedding - Beck did SUCH a great job.

Now they're Honeymooning in Hawaii - far away from the cold temps we've got here back home!

Congrats, Beck and Kevin!!

Beck & Kevin's Wedding - The Recap

So, as I mentioned before, Beck and Kevin's Wedding went beautifully. :)

Friday: I took the day off of work because I needed to get some wash done and I really needed a day off of work - I hadn't taken a full day off since I started work after the fire. So I thought that the day before Beck's wedding would be a nice day to take off, in case she needed any help with last minute stuff. I got lots of wash done and ended up running some errands with Beck. We got our nails done at one of those Chinese nail places. We both had these women who did our nails who spoke so softly. My woman got so frustrated with me asking her, "what?" that she resorted to just pointing directions at me. I think she thought I was retarded. Anyway. So after errands it was time to get dressed and go to the rehearsal.

I looked fat:

I'd never been inside of Beck's church before and I was shocked by how tiny it was on the inside! It looks so big from the outside... and there are beautiful stained glass windows which, for some reason, made me believe that the church must be vast on the inside. It was not. I couldn't believe that there were going to be close to 200 people in that church the next day! It's an adorable church, though. And it's actually nice that it's so small - it really looked like a packed house for their wedding!

After the rehearsal, we went to the rehearsal dinner at The Parkwood Restaurant in Clifton Park. I'd ordered the baked haddock when I was asked a couple of weeks ago what I wanted for dinner. But when I got there that night, I just wasn't feeling fish. So I changed my order... and the waitress - who was a grumpy, older woman - totally caught me. She was like, "Is that what you really ordered?" Whatever. I had the chicken. That's right - I lied. Whatever! Whatever! I do what I want! Beck and Kevin gave out their attendant gifts. Beck gave each of us girls the most beautiful jewlery! We each got a large silver locket, a silver bracelet, and a pair of silver earrings - but they were all different. My locket was kind of diamond shaped with a dark blue stone in the center and sparklies around it, my earrings were sort of purse shaped danglies with sparklies and my bracelet had sparkly clear rinestones. Very pretty and very me! I need to take a pic so that I can post it here... Kevin gave his groomsmen each a framed share of Playboy stock with a different message engraved at the bottome of each one. Alex's said, "Brothers got to hug." So cute! Here's a pic of the guys with their stock:

After the rehearsal dinner, a bunch of us went to Friday's for some drinks. We all sat in one of those large, long booths in the bar area and were entertained by some guy wearing a Fuccillo fleece vest who wanted us to say "HUGE". We talked and drank and played MASH (Mansion Apartment Shack House) on napkins. (By the way - you totally have to follow that link and play MASH online - rock!). The night ended later than expected... I know that I got home around 1:30 and fell asleep almost immediately upon my head hitting the pillow...

Photos Up...

I started to rework my photo albums last night. I'm planning on moving them all to one spot: aliwolly.com/photo.html.

I saw that Bergeron had been using Picasa pretty successfully to post his pictures and while I'd used Picasa in the past and hadn't been thrilled with it, I decided to give it another go. It has definitely improved... I didn't like, in the past, how it sorted pictures - by the date, really only, instead of by the folder that they were in. But it's fixed now, and that rocks. It generates the photo web pages SO quickly and easily too.

I fixed up the pics from Beck and Kevin's wedding and used Picasa to generate a web page, which I've posted here. Still haven't gotten around to doing a recap...

Weekend Update... Coming Soon!

So the wedding really went fabulously! Beck looked AMAZING and everything went well. The whole weekend was tons o'fun. I want to post ALL about it, but that will have to wait for tonight. :) If you'd like to see pics in the meantime, you can see pics from my camera and my parents camera here. Be warned, though, that they're not cleaned up at all. I still need to lighten, crop, fix red eye, and label. Bergeron has pics from the wedding up here and here.

Back to work, but for now, I leave you with an adorable picture of a pissed off kitty. Saturday morning, Beck wanted to run down to Claire's to get some crystals for her hair and while she was there, she got a little elf costume for her cat, Calvin, and she bought a little pumpkin costume for "her niece", Ginny:
