A Home of Our Own...
So we got the keys to our new place on Tuesday!! The power and gas got turned on today and we should have a futon by tomorrow - ordered one from "the futon store" at the mall Tuesday night. SO... hopefully we'll be staying in our new place starting tomorrow night - yay!!!
I got a new camera Monday night - an open box item at Circuit City. It's a Sony Cybershot and it's awesome and I got it hella cheap - yay!! ;)
Anyway, so I took the new camera to the apartment on Wednesday (the first day it was officially ours) and took some pictures... I've posted them here. The apartment is SO cute and I'm really excited for moving in!!! :)
The apartment is on Winnie St, so my new favorite thing is telling people my address... "Winnie, like Winnie the Pooh". Alex cringes every time I say it... He thinks Glenwood was a much cooler street name. I am going to miss our apartment at Glenwood St. The views outside the windows were a little nicer... There were so many trees and bushes and other lovely types of foliage. And it was very nice to have a back door to the apartment. Our new apartment is on the second floor of our new building and the views aren't quite as nice, though they aren't bad... And there's only one entrance to the apartment - something that probably never would have bothered me before the fire, but now... Now it's just a little troublesome to think that in the event of - God forbid - another apartment fire, I'd only have one way out of the apartment. But let's all cross our fingers and pray that we never have to go through a fire again. Right? Right.
So I drew a little diagram of the apartment in Excel... If you're so inclined to view a floor plan, you can download it here. There are two large bedrooms (with an enclosed porch off of the master bedroom), a small bedroom (which is just screaming to be an office - there's even pegboard already on the walls), a nice sized living room, a bathroom just about the same as our old one, and a kitchen and dining room. All very cute. We're still deciding on paint colors and awaiting the insurance check before we can fill it with furniture, but I'm hoping that we'll have painting done and most furniture in by my birthday - which is just about a month away!
Anyway, I guess that's all the news for now... Big changes occurring all the time. It's almost exhausting to keep up with everything - but kind of exhilarating at the same time! :)
