craziness
I left for the gym at 6:30am and it was potentially gorgeous out. It was cold, but it hadn't preciptated overnight like the forecast said and so as I walked to the car I was happily thinking of how glad I was that it didn't snow as predicted.
As I was in the gym on an elliptical machine next to the windows, I noticed that it had started to flurry. I thought, "There's the dusting they were predicting." I finished my workout and took a shower.
When I left the building after my shower I was confronted by a veritable blizzard outside. Snow was blowing at a 45 degree angle and there was already about an inch of heavy, wet snow accumulated on my car.
By the time I got to work (a 10 minute drive) the snow had stopped.
It's now the end of the day. The snow from this morning is almost all melted on the lawn outside of my office.
March is freaking crazy.

Wow. It's been over a week since I've posted. I'm such a slacker...
So my rims that we bought offa ebay came in the other day and they're pretty much perfect, which rules because they were really cheap. Rock! I brought them to Sam's Club yesterday because my new tires were in and they put them on for me. My little car is so nearly perfect now! :) The new tires are great... I can actually stop now. ;) Seriously, my tires were like bald before so there's really a difference. And my rims all look nice and shiny and mostly not scratched, which is so much better than before because the back two rims were just scraped to shit. So awesome! I'm bringing Gus in to Dodi's shop next week (I think) to get the scrape on the passenger side fixed. I'm so excited for that to be gone. Now that the weather's getting warmer and less wet I totally want my car to be washed and shiny all the time, and that scrape really hurts to look at when the rest of the car is all shiny. Yay! My car is going to be so cute again! I love my car, so very much, and that's awesome because I still have 4 years of payments before it's paid off. But it's so worth it! :) I love bringing my car to get the oil changed or something like that because these big manly-men in the shops always are impressed by it. They're like, "oh, that's a turbo beetle... Those things move, don't they?" and I'm always like, "yep!" I'm so proud of Gus! :)
So... In other, non-car-related news...
My bridesmaid dress from Carrie's wedding came in. I went to Jocelyn's in CP Tuesday to try it on. I brought my shoes that I bought, like, months ago so I could see if I was going to need the skirt hemmed or something like that. I looked awesome in the dress. The dress rocks. The top is ultra flattering and the skirt is wonderfully full and so cute with a little sweep train. Dodi came along with me and took some pics of me with her camera phone. The pics are a little small and the dress looks much better in person, but you get the idea:
That last pic is of me in the dressing room reluctantly taking off my shoes (yes, I'm wearing a shirt). My shoes are incredibly cute and go so well with the dress. The whole ensemble is just so classy. Carrie did a great job!
Oh! Friday night Alex and I went up to Foster and Amy's new house in Greenwich. It's way out there... Past Saratoga... It took a while to get out there, but they're house is worth the drive. It's gorgeous. It's 150 years old and the rooms are so cute and there are so many old fashioned details that make the house so charming. But then the kitchen is beautiful with what look like brand new high gloss granite counters. Absolutely gorgeous. They've been doing a lot of work on the house (the last owners were apparently fans of ducks as there's wallpaper all over the place with ducks on it in the rooms they haven't gotten to yet) and the place just looks amazing. We had a very nice night up there. Amy gave us the grand tour and then we had pizza and beer and played Monopoly (I totally was kicking ass... But we had to leave before the game was over). Anyway, it was a great time and their house is amazing - exactly what I would want my house to be like. I'm really happy for them. :)
Saturday night I went out with the girls to see HOTD at the Parting Glass. We had a great time! We got reservations and sat right up front. I'd never actually gotten reservations there before, so it was a new experience for me. There were three older women sitting right in front of us... It was kind of strange, like, looking into our futures or something. Except hopefully we won't weigh that much or dress like old women when we're that old. ;) But yeah, it was a great time, and a great warm up for this weekend's festivities!
Speaking of... This weekend looks to be fabulous. Saturday there's the St Paddy's day parade in Albany. We'll most likely be viewing the parade from the corner in front of Pauly's where we'll be drinking our Guinness. We'll be heading to WT's most likely after the parade and then... Who knows? That night we're going to see Seven Nations at Revolution Hall. That's really a great venue and it looks like it'll be a great show. Seven Nations is awesome and The Jimmy Kelly Band is opening for them and they're pretty good too. I can't wait! Sunday we'll be going to Northern Lights for their "Pre-St. Pat's Blow Out Bash" to see the The McKrells and The Glengarry Bhoys. That show should be excellent as well. I love The Glengarry Bhoys. Right now I'm listening to their Juice album. They rock.
I think before the show on Sunday I'll be getting take out from my church's corned beef and cabbage dinner. I love corned beef and cabbage. It's like, seriously, my favorite meal. I expect to be eating it a lot this week. I also expect that I will not lose weight this week, but I guess I can just own it and get back to losing weight next week. ;) It'll actually be a little disappointing not to lose this week because I've got this weird pattern going where one week I'll lose 1.something and the next I'll lose 2.something and so this week I "should" lose 2.something according to my pattern and that would put me to my 10% goal at WW and that's a sort of big deal. Also that means I'm like 5 lbs away from my initial goal, but I think I want to lose more weight than that anyway. Ah well. I'll get there. If not sooner, then later.
Well. After not posting for a week, this was a hella long post. I feel like I could have written so much more... And I feel like I could have written it all so much more interestingly. Ah well. morelater.
