it's been so long since i've posted... i suck.

i guess i haven't posted because there's been nothing overly interesting to write about. well, i guess that's not necessarily true, but i haven't been in the mood to formulate a good post. so here's a summary of the last week or so and hopefully i'll be able to start posting again this week...

last thursday was alex's birthday and i baked him a carrot cake because he had mentioned that he liked carrot cake... i sucked it up... i forgot to add cinnamon and nutmeg and it was awful. but the frosting was good... he was sweet though, he said that it was good and almost ate a whole piece. i'm normally pretty good at baking so i'm irritated that it came out crappy... ah well. i'll have to bake a pie or something to prove to myself that i'm not a horrible baker. i took alex out to dinner for his birthday... we went to the macaroni grill because that's where he chose to go and we had a pretty excellent meal. we went to the big house afterwards and then wondered around the downtown bar area but it was pretty quiet so we ended up going back to my place early. it was a nice night and alex appeared to have had a good time :) so... what else... i got a haircut, i look fabulous... got new sneakers last week - a phenomenal deal (paid $35 for $85 shoes)... the weekend was quiet and that suited me fine... um... we had two new people start at work yesterday and i've been trying to appear like a good little worker so really i've got to stop posting soon and get back to work... carrie won a free lunch at uno's and we're all going in about an hour so that's excellent. we have to listen to some 10 minute thing about retirement planning from an American Express rep, but hopefully that won't be too painful...

anyway. so i'm excited that it's cooler out and i'm waiting for the leaves to change. i'm pretty shocked that it's the end of september and it really doesn't look like fall right now... i can't wait to do fall things like pick apples and go look at leaves and bake pies etc...

beh. back to work...

i think i've given up on finishing this travelogue. i had an excellent time but i can't motivate myself to write about it anymore... ah well...
