yay! i got it to work! yay!
i added a drop down menu to access my archives. i like this a lot. see it? it's over there -> on the right side under the links drop down menu. very cool. i got the code using a script generator on this site last night, but for some reason i couldn't get it to show up. yeah. it's because i needed to insert a break. that's it. hours of frustration last night and today i realized that it was there the whole time, hiding under a table. right. anyway, it works now, so yay!
i've added a few more pages to the photo album. and i'm planning on adding my webcam in a popup window. but not tonight. tonight i go to bed early.
it's been an alone time night. i was not expecting it to be one, but it turned out ok. i don't know why i was surprised that plans fell through. my horoscope today said that tonight would be an alone night. i watched Secretary which was one of the oddest movies i've ever seen. then i returned the dvds to hollywood video (on time for a change) and drove around albany. tonight is thursday night and there was a live at five concert tonight so there were lots of people out. i drove by mcgeary's and heard the burners uk playing while i was stopped at a red light. the part of the song that i heard was a heavy brass part, and it really made me want to go in and watch them. i truly do love a band with a nice loud brass section and a lot of energy.
...speaking of mcgeary's... it is one week until my birthday and i just wanted to post a friendly reminder that i will be celebrating at mcgeary's that night watching HOTD and if you are my friend i expect you to be there... :)

this morning i saw two out of the ordinary things on the road. i thought this meant that today was going to be weird for me. thus far, that has not proved to be true, unless you count the fact that i've been pretty productive today so far as being odd. i guess it is actually pretty weird that i've been productive. oh! and it's really weird that i was the first person here in my department despite having gotten up late and missing my exit on the northway because i was too distracted by the out of the ordinary things i'd witnessed. anyway. so weird day.
so the first out of the ordinary thing that i saw today (God, people should just ph34r my 1337 writing ski11z) was an SUV flying through the air flipping over. it was actually pretty scary. i was on I-90 West bound in the left lane preparing to shoot over across the middle lane and the right lane to exit onto the Northway when a few carlengths up from me in the left lane of the East bound side a white SUV (I dunno, possibly a Jeep or a Ford) suddenly struck the stone barrier between the two sides with his driver's side front corner. He was going at such a speed that he launched up the barrier and flew into the air while flipping over and then landed in the left lane causing the cars behind him to smash into him. it was so freaking scary. the sound of the metal scraping against the concrete was horrible. i wanted to cry. i picked up my cellphone and dialed 911 to report it. first time i've ever called 911. then i felt bad because here this person might have died and i saw it and the only thing i could do was report the accident and then go to work. but seeing that accident occur was pretty surreal. it looked like a scene from a movie. specifically, i immediately thought of the previews for Bad Boys II. really freaked me out, and i didn't speed (as much) the rest of the way to work.
so then i was on the northway, still on my way to work, when i saw the second out of the ordinary thing today. i was in the middle lane (for a change), doing about 80 or so, when suddenly there was this loud noise next to me in the left lane. i looked to my left to see a motorcycle flying by me on one wheel. who does that?! i mean, this guy was on the Norway, doing at least 90 mph on a motorcycle, isn't that dangerous enough for him? why did he feel the need to do a wheelie as he flew by me? i guess on any other day i wouldn't have been as freaked out about that as i was, but having just witnessed a horrible accident i thought this guy was really taking an unnecessary risk. i almost rolled down my window to yell at him to be careful.
anyway. so yeah. weird day. i hope no one died in that accident this morning.

so alex and i tried to go see pirates of the caribbean last night. the listing on timesunion.com said that there was a 10:30 show. we showed up at 10:30, but there was no show. annoying. and i was all excited to see orlando bloom ;) we ended up going to Denny's where we saw some heinous looking cars in the parking lot. one was a large metallic kermit the frog green boat of a car from the 70s and parked right next to it was a blue car (a honda, i think) that had a carbon fiber hood put on it and a huge spoiler on the back along with many other aftermarket parts. i thought it just looked stupid. we went back to my apartment afterwards and just bummed around and watched TV, which was very cool. :) i'm glad that bumming around and watching TV is enjoyable, because it's just about all i can afford to do nowadays.
but i ask you: why is it that cats never need to use the litter box until there are people sitting in the room where the litter box is located? my cats were grossing me out so bad last night. i'm moving their litter boxes out to the porch tonight. it's been so nice lately that i've been leaving the kitchen door open so that the cats can go out onto the porch during the day anyway, so i might as well put the litter boxes out there for the summer. if only i could put a cat door on the kitchen door... then i could leave them out there year round.

i want to go see pirates of the caribbean like you wouldn't believe. most of the reviews for it are pretty good. the "tomatometer" at rotten tomatoes gives it an 85% fresh rating. and that's pretty good for a movie at that site. need to see it.

ugh. i fucking got sick again yesterday. my eyes were killing me. my left eye was worse than my right, but they were both red and really, really sensitive to light. suck. my sinuses were all stuffed also and i could barely open my left eye. i drove to work in the morning, but drove off the road at one point because i couldn't see. my eyes hurt so bad and they were watering and out of focus. suck. so i got to work and it wasn't too bad in the office, except for when light was reflecting off of my computer screen or papers or something. i made a dr appointment pretty much right away and had to call my mom to come drive me there because i couldn't drive. my dr (well, the NP, but close enough) rx'd me some antibiotics and told me to lie down with cold compresses on my eyes and to call her tomorrow (today) if the eyes weren't getting any better. it's not pink eye. actually, it hurts worse than pink eye. but it's good that i don't have that nasty infectious disease (again). i ended up going to my parents' house afterwards to lay down for the afternoon. i slept for 3 hours that afternoon. i know that i'm sick when i sleep. and i slept. the night before when the eye started hurting i slept for 2 hours after work and then went to bed early. and then yesterday i slept in the afternoon and went to bed by 10. ugh. i normally sleep at the most 8 hours a night and that's it. anyway. i'm feeling much better today. my eyes still aren't all the way back to normal yet but they're much better than they were yesterday. i hate being sick. i've been sick so much in the past six months or so. much more than i usually am. i hope i'm back to normal by my birthday....

three day weekends rule. every weekend should be a three day weekend. it was so nice to just spend days relaxing and then still have time to do fun things.
friday i started my 4th of july by cleaning. i cleaned from 9:30am until 1pm. my apartment is so clean, it rules! i hope i can keep it that way... after my cleaning marathon i showered and headed up to my parents' house where i veg-ed out for a bit and then ate steak (rock!). mom made this brocolli salad that was hella good. the parents and the boys went to the fireworks in clifton park. i went with Carrie and John and Amy and Mike and Beth and Matt to the fireworks in Albany. they rocked. the finale was so freaking awesome. one firework after another after another... so cool. the theme of the show sucked though. i mean, who comes up with this crap? it was "peace love and something." i don't remember what the something was. but yeah. i mean, it was such a hippy love in show. they should have just handed out the pot. but the song selection didn't always fit the hippy theme, one of the songs was "ain't no mountain high enough" which reminded us of bridget jonse's diary so afterwards we went back to Carrie's apartment (where there's central air) to watch that movie.
saturday was a quiet day for the most part. i got up and exercised for about an hour (rock!) then took a long bath and had a "spa day." Alex called around 7 and I met him and Steve at the marina in clifton park. they were borrowing shawn brimhall's boat. we went on a short ride on the mohawk. it was such a nice, relaxing ride. the temperature was perfect: warm, but when we were "speeding" along the breeze felt great. we watched some fireworks that people were setting off along the river, but it was ass buggy so we cut the ride short.
sunday was also a quiet day. i spent most of the day watching tv and napping. wow, i lead a hard life. yeah. i went up to the parents' house for a while and to the country drive in with my sister and two of my little brothers. the little guy got ice cream all over him. we made him fold his hands and not touch anything in my car on the way home... later on i saw t3 with alex. i enjoyed the movie. it was loud and fun. and that's all i wanted it to be. there were some funny scenes... but overall just a lot of explosions and fight scenes. i was way into it for some reason, i kept getting all nervous for the characters and jumping when there were suspensful parts.
so yeah. three day weekends rule. the only suckass thing about them is you get used to being lazy and getting back to work is more difficult than normal on a monday...
