went to mcgeary's last night to see the glengarry bhoys with alex, steve, and dodi. i had a good time, and i looked hot. (i rock). i've never seen that band before, but i really enjoyed them. afterwards alex and i swung by barnes & noble with the intention of buying the next harry potter book for me, but it was mobbed. at like, 1am. there were people lined up oustide the door. very weird. this morning i fainted. 3 times. i think it was because i hadn't eaten since the night before at around 6, and it was only one of those macaroni and cheese in a cup things. so we went to this diner by albany med to get something to eat, i think it was called quintessence or something like that. it's in the ghetto. it was completely surprising inside. all art deco and kind of bohemian. and there was a classical guitarist there playing. and they had fresh squeezed oj. and the food was good. so i think i should be better now. but, truthfully, i'm not sure that i am. i'm freezing for some reason, my hands feel like ice and i have goosebumps all over. and my head still feels a little wierd. i was going to get my shit together and go to my parent's house to do wash and then go pick up a harry potter (if i can find a copy) and go tanning, but i think i'll wait a while before i attempt to drive...

who knew that porn stars and my little ponies had such similar names?

ok, this is perhaps the most clever thing i've heard of in a while. people in NYC use email to organize a gathering at a specific place and time. they show up suddenly and after about ten minutes they suddenly disperse. freaking funny as hell. read about it here. makes me wish i lived closer to NY. it'd be hella cool to participate in such an event...

so it's almost 4 on a friday and i need to just leave work. suck. i can't concentrate at all.

i went to backwash.com and found a link to this site where you can create a survey that people would answer anonymously about what they think of you. you can take it by clicking here.

ended up going to see hotd tonight at mcgeary's. beck and i met her friends at the hill street cafe before hand. but they ended up not coming with us to mcgeary's. we had a good time though. it was the first time i saw hotd sober, and they still ruled. the crowd there sucked though. they didn't know the band or the songs and some of them were actually rude/drunk enough to boo. i wanted to kick this guy's ass so bad because he kept yelling "you suck". that kid sucked. the kids didn't know how to dance to the irish music (apparently if music doesn't have a big thumping bass line they don't know how to dance to it) and some kids were actually grinding, which was kind of disturbing. but the band was great and they played "johnny jump up" and "me and julio" and "cecilia" and "paddy murphey's wake" and "mary mac" and it was wonderful. i so love hotd. we only stayed for a little while because beck had to drive back to poughkeepsie. i wore my awesome pink underwear under a hot pink baby t-shirt from express and a denim skirt. apparently pink really works for me. i got hit on by this guy named "packy". he came over and introduced himself and i thought he said, "i'm packing" and i was very confused. but it turns out that his name was packy and that his real name is gaelic and no one could pronounce it so they called him packy instead. weird. anyway... then later this other guy was apparently checking me out (according to beck) but his whole tactic was apparently to stand right near me and bump into me. anyway. it was a good night out, and pretty confidence boosting as the last few times i went out i didn't get hit on at all and i was beginning to think that i was the ugly chick.

so tonight hotd is playing at mcgeary's right after alive at five. and i totally want to go. but alex is working (suck) and beck lives far away (suck) and meredith has to wash her dog (come on, now) and dodi is going tanning and i'm not sure what's she's up to afterwards, and Carrie is sick (otherwise i think she and her scottish man would appreciate hotd.... they'll have to come out sometime this summer). so anyway. really wanna go. haven't seen hotd in forever.

so my burn between the girls is very pink. of course, it could be a reflection of the hot pink bra i'm wearing. i keep going to touch it because my hands are cold to cool it down, but then i realize that at work that doesn't look so nice...

so i forgot to preorder the new harry potter book and i'm very upset. i want it. i can't wait to read it. all i'm sayin' is, it's only going to take me about a day to read it (yes, i know it's like 900 pages... i'm a fast reader and kind of a dork, i'll devote an entire day to reading) so if anyone gets a copy they should give it to me first because i'll be done with it quickly...

today is exactly four weeks from my birthday (july 17). so that means it's time to shamelessly promote my wishlist... love me but don't know what to give me? find perfect stuff here...

so i went tanning for the first time ever today and this is what i learned: 1) not all girls that work in health/beauty stores in clifton park are snotty. the girls at sunsations were actually very nice. 2) tanning is very relaxing. they have a (car) radio built into the bed so you can either bring a cd along or tune into whatever you want to listen to. 3) i am not as claustrophobic as i thought because i didn't freak out when i lowered the top of the bed (which looks like a funky futuristic coffin on a stand) 4) i burn easiest in a place i never knew: right between my breasts. annoying. 5) make sure that your undergarments (if you choose to wear them) are not crooked when you lay down to tan... odd tan lines result... 6) the sun "don't shine" there for a reason... cause if it gets burnt... ouch... yeah. so i actually saw a difference after the first time (and i only was in there for 8 minutes) so i think i'm going to go again. i definitely don't want a dark tan like the girls that worked there had, but i'd like to obtain and maintain some color. after i saw that girl at express a couple of months ago wearing the miniskirt and scaring people with her pasty white legs i decided that i cannot look like that and since my job prohibits me from being out in the sun (damn the work week... and damn the constantly rainy weekends!) i'll have to get my color by tanning. (because, yeah, i tried the self tanner thing, and i kind of suck it up every time and i ony do it on my legs because i shudder to think of how badly i could fuck it up on my arms/chest/face, and besides it doesn't last very long). so now i guess i'm a high maitenance girl who tans. ah well. i'm a pretty, pretty princess. i own that.

"what, like the back of a volkswagen?"

so i (finally) went to apply for my passport during my lunch and when i went to get back in my car i looked down and noticed that right next to the door behind the driver's seat was my pack of listerine fresh strips or whatever they're called. then i looked to my left a little and saw the side of a black box stuck between the driver's seat and the door. i thought that it looked like a black deck of cards box that my brothers use at home. i reached down and dug it out and discovered that this was no deck of cards... it was a 3 pack of durex condoms. they were "colored and scented" strawberry, orange, and (this kills me) banana. these were not mine. i was kind of shocked. they must have been from the previous owner of the car. the box was unopened (i think had it been opened it would have been gross). immediately all i could think of was the line from mallrats, "he likes to have sex in a very uncomfortable place." "what, like the back of a volkswagen?" (and really, with the cloth tan seats, you'd have to use 'em or else you could stain... ew, that was graphic, sorry...)

to continue on with the events of the weekend...

friday i didn't end up going out. the plan was to go out, but plans did not happen. i ended up sitting at home waiting for half the night for said plans to happen before i aborted on that and went and hung out with eric and ryan. we bummed around for a bit. eric and ryan were planning on playing gt3 because they had 2 ps2s, 2 tvs, and eric was going to bring up his copy of gt3 and the i-link so that they could play 2 player not split screen (instead using the 2 tvs). but eric forgot his copy of the game and also the i-link. getting an additional copy of the game was easily solved with a trip to hollywood video. but unfortunately another i-link was difficult to come by at 11pm on a friday night. so eric and ryan played "my street" while i watched (was too tired to play... had only 4 hours of sleep the night before then went to work etc). i finally was too tired to be awake anymore so i went home (and drove off the road at one point... hit a pothole, which woke me up and scared the crap out of me but fortunately did no damage to Gus).

Saturday was cool. went to the mall with beck. we were going to go test drive jettas (she's eventually going to buy one), but we ran out of time. beck had to go to a barbeque that night at her friend's house (it was his birthday) and then she convinced Alex and I to join them at a bar in Catskill. originally they were planning on going out in Albany, but another friend suggested this bar in Catskill so the plan changed. i was not into going to a bar in catskill when there are good bars in albany and also hair of the dog was playing in Saratoga. but we went. the bar was pretty nice. it was all outdoors by the river and you could watch boats go by and it was a nice night, and if it had been located in saratoga or lake george it would have ruled. but, unfortunately, it was located in catskill. and there were like 15 people there when our group got there and then by like 1030 almost everybody left. i guess it was bed time in booneyville. god, i'm mean. anyway... so we ended up going back up to albany to the big house. (and i didn't say i told you so. ok, until just now.) it ended up being a good night out. i quite enjoyed the music at the big house and the drinks weren't bad either... :)

so much work to do. buried. cannot breathe. suck.

so...

Thursday was fun. well, work wasn't. but after work was. we went to "Alive at Five" in Albany. it was the first celtic night, and they had a band from texas, the kildares, playing. the band kind of sucked. i mean, especially compared to all the awesome new york celtic bands (hello hair of the dog). there were tons of people there. it was at the rain location which was underneath the I-787 overpass at the Corning Preserve. no one really knew how to get there, so you just had to follow all the other young people dragging coolers of beer. we had our beer in a backpack because "you're supposed to drink it so fast that it doesn't get cold." the beer i bought kind of really sucked. see, you weren't supposed to bring glass containers, so i went for cans. and then i thought, "ew, these can beers are ghetto" so i bought the least ghetto beer in a can, amstel light. well, ew. amstel light from a can pretty much just tastes like the can. aluminum beer. nasty. anyway.

so we walked around till we bumped into some people that Alex used to work with at Albany Med and we ended up going to dinner with them at the bayou cafe. i'd never been there before. it was a little crowded and the band they had there that night kind of sucked (i mean, they weren't terrible but...). the food was good. i had a veggie burrito. it was huge and very spicey, but my gin and tonic took care of that. afterwards we headed over to mcgeary's where the chad lamarsh band was playing. they were decent. a pretty good cover band. the lead singer took his guitar and walked from the tent outside into the bar and then back outside again and stopped right in front of where we were standing while he was doing a Rush cover. it was amusing. a little uncomfortable, having the performer right there in front of you. like, there's pressure there, having the performer right in front of you. you really feel like you have to look like you're paying attention and like you're enjoying what they're doing. anyway. we only stayed there for one drink (i couldn't decide what to have so i asked the bartender to surprise me, and i got a stoli orange and tonic with a splash of grenadiene <-spelled that wrong i think. it was pretty good. i wonder if it has a name...). Then we headed home. good night out though. :)
