so i got a friend for dude. i'm not sure that he appreciates it though. i picked out a little kitten from the animal shelter in ballston spa with the help of two of my little brothers. she's a little 8 week old tortise shell kitty. she's very pretty. dude is not too happy about our little addition though. hopefully he'll get used to her at least. he seemed ok with her until she used her litter box. i guess another cat is ok in the house as long as this cat is not crapping in his house. i haven't named the new little cat yet. i keep referring to her as little one or baby. i gess she needs a name. she's very pretty, so i was thinking that she needed a grownup name. but nothing seems to fit...

i'm thinking that, upon approval from beck, i'll be reserving a room at one of the hostels at hostelworld.com. i was originally looking at avalon house, but it doesn't appear that we could get a room with an attached bathroom and i'm pretty sure that's a dealbreaker for beck. and really, it's only $3 more than a private without. so i'm thinking that we should definitely stay at Jacob's Inn. the prices are the same as avalon house, and they have a prettier website (and really, that's the important part, isn't it?). actually, Jacob's Inn looks like it'll be our best bet. $40 per person per night for a private room with a bathroom attached. sounds good to me.

i've been trying to find hotels in ireland. i've been looking mostly at hostels b/c they are cheap and private rooms are possible. i read a review at tripadvisor.com of mount eccles hostel which said, "Went to MEC for St.Patricks 2003. We stayed in a 6bed dorm on the second floor. The place was secure with electronic card entry and storage lockers. It also took mastercard which was a plus. The showers sucked, very cold water dribbled out, but it wasnt that big of a deal. The buses to the airport drop off and pick up only 5 minutes away. Its in a slightly sketch part of town, but all in all I would say its a fine place to stay for the price." at first i cracked up at the review b/c it said the showers were cold and dribbley but that wasn't a big deal b/c damn, i don't want to take cold showers. then i realized that the review sounded like something i totally would have written, i mean, the language was very similar to my own (word usage: sucked, slightly sketch). so i looked up and saw that the review was written by someone from albany. i was amused.

so last night was fun. beck and i met up with her friends from poughkeepsie at the big house in albany. it seems that people who work in poughkeepsie come from the capital district originally, so that's why they were up here. beck and i got there at about 1030 and the drinking commenced. we were told that we had a lot of catching up to do as they'd already had "as many as four"... those guys were pretty cool. somehow i got ass drunk and didn't end up spending any money. being a girl rules. i had their "prohibition porter" (big house is a brewing company) and it was pretty good. there was a girl there on her bachelorette party with her sister and her friend. she had blow pops tied around her waist sticking out of her pants and a shirt that said "tonight i better get kissess because one day soon i'm gonna be a missus". the shirt was one of those tiny t's from express, so it had this baby pocket on it in which she had hershey kisses. her friend was bringing her around telling people that they could take a blow pop out of her pants with their mouth for a dollar. so we all did that. when you paid her she'd pull down her shirt so that you could put the dollar in her boobs and she was like, "you can put it in there with your mouth" and i was like, "um, no thanks". the girl was actually pretty nice and she and her friend hung out with us for a while. then she went and got her younger sister who she said had bigger boobs than her and she brought her over to the table so that she could hook up with one of the guys. the guy that she ended up leaving with was the only single guy at the table and apparently it's been a while or something like that. and, damn. good for him for leaving with that girl because i was lead to believe it's been a very long time. but yeah. beck says that's because he's really picky, so i guess that's his fault. dumbass. got ass drunk. we had chocolate cake shots. i have no idea what was in them, but they smelled just like chocolate cake. they looked like pee though. but they tasted alright. after you did the shot you sucked on a lemon dipped in sugar. like it was the icing. pretty good. anyway. so yeah. drunk funness. i feel that there was more i was going to write about, but i can't remember.
