so everything should be working right on the blog now (http://aliwolly.homeip.net should be accessible, you should be able to access the Bronx Zoo pics and others that i'm hosting off of this computer and the small blogs at the top and the webcam should be operational). please, if you notice that these things are not working email me or leave a comment below. thanks!

i had dinner at Garcia's Thursday night. and our waiter at the mexican restaurant was russian. or something. his name was serge. he was very attentive, but also a little wierd. he referred to me as a senorita, which struck me as funny because we are in america at a mexican restaurant where a russian called me senorita. when he brought our dinners back to us in "to go boxes" he kept saying "don't forget to take your to go boxes" and when he brought the credit card slips back he said that one was for him and the other was "for your files." when we left, we forgot the to go boxes, but i remembered before we got outside, and it's a good thing because i think serge would've ran outside after us yelling "hey guys, you forgot your to go boxes!"

last night we went to Delmonica's Italian Steakhouse. i'd never been there before. the food was good. i didn't have a steak because it was a friday during lent but my tortellini was excellent. we saw HOTD at Eamonn's afterwards. i'd never been to Eamonn's before either. it's kind of a wierd place to see a band because it's so small. the band was across from the bar and there was a row of rectangular tables between the performance area and the bar and on one end of the room there was a big screen tv that was showing one of the big basketball games (i have no interest in basketball). it was odd because everyone sitting in front of the band wasn't watching them play, they were watching the game. in fact, at one point at the end of the game, the band stopped playing and just commented on the game. and then during a commercial they played "follow me up to carlow" because the song was "only 2 minutes and 50 seconds long." after the game was over the band picked up again and played a few more songs, but they were done by 12:15. they played "Me and Julio" (Beck, I totally wanted to do "the butt dance"!) which ruled and during their encore they actually had to ask if anyone wanted to here "i used to work in chicago." that was the first time i'd ever witnessed them wanting to play that and not being screamed at to play it. but they played it :) and i was all excited because i was wearing my shirt that says "bangers" on it and they did the maine verse. yeah, it doesn't take much to excite me. they finished up with "love the one you're with." i quite enjoy listening to them play that song. the big guy rules.

looks like the rest of my weekend is going to be pretty quiet. which is fine with me. i must do dishes. i suck. my entire sink is full of dishes and i completely ran out of glasses and i think the only silverware that's not dirty is one butter knife and one large spoon. but it's already quarter of six on saturday and i haven't done the dishes. ugh. i'm going to my friend justin's birthday party tonight. it's a board game party, whatever that means. i guess it means that you sit and play board games. i hope the game of life is there. that's my absolute favorite board game. i love putting the little people in the car... i heard that there will be jello shots. so that's cool.

tomorrow i have to help out with state police testing. i'm excited about that. i can't wait to see dave and dr. mac again :) and it's an easy 40 bucks. sit at a table for 4 hours looking cute while all sorts of young men come out and schedule tests. :)

so i went for a walk with Carrie after work yesterday, and it was so nice. i love walking. i can walk forever. but i can't run. i just can't make myself do it. suck. ah well. so after we went to dinner at Uno's and then to Borders. I found the greatest book at Borders :) it's called "are you my boyfriend?" and it's printed on board so it's like one of those baby books. very funny.

Carrie and I saw this other book there called "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus". It's a children's book, and it was completely delightful. :) it starts out with this bus driver leaving and he's asks you to watch the bus and don't let the pigeon drive it. then the pigeon comes on and starts pleading to let him drive the bus. here's an excerpt. you can just see some librarian reading this book to a bunch of 4 year olds and them yelling "NO!" at the pigeon as he's pleading to drive the bus. it's great. at one point the pigeon says "my cousin herb drives buses all the time" and then you turn the page and he says, "true story." it's great :) i should've bought it. :)

so the country drive in opened today. rock. that means summer is coming. rock! although this will be the first summer that i'll have to work full time. every day. monday through friday. all day. SUCK.

beware of flying underwear

so i had a nice weekend. decidedly quieter than the last few and it looks like the next few will follow suit. but that's ok with me.

but i bet you're wondering about the underwear...

saturday beck and i got lunch at panera and then we went over to petsmart because there was a cat adoption clinic going on. and i thought i wanted a cat (as a friend for Dude because he just seems so lonely and in need of a friend). so i spoke with two ladies at the luv a pet booth and was looking at this one little kitty named Cricket. He was adorable: black and white with green eyes... he had a lazy eye and his head was tilted. and that somehow made him more appealing. so i was saying how i'd like to take him and they made me fill out this three page application. three pages! insane! and i didn't have my landlord's number and they wanted to call him to ensure that it was ok that i had another cat. so i told them i'd get back to them with his number, but i don't have it (i suck. i had it at one time. i'm gonna have to leave a note in his mailbox to get it again). but i decided that it wasn't worth getting a cat from a place where they made you fill out a hella long application and did like background checks or something. and also, cricket was already 8 months old and therefore not a very cute little kitten. the only advantage was that cricket was already "altered". so if i get a kitten on my own (free from somewhere) i'd have to pay for the "altering".

so then we went to Neemer Volkswagen which is right down the road and lusted after the incredibly cute cars. they actually had an aquarius blue (baby blue) convertable beetle that was exactly what i want the most in the world but it was sold. damn! but hella cute. i embarrassed a car salesman who told us to go ahead in the building 'cause "we don't bite" and i responded, "you don't?"

so then we drove up route 9 towards Clifton Park and it was a nice day so we had both of our windows open. suddenly beck says, "i think your underwear flew out the window!" and i was like, "what?!" and i closed the windows... see, my laundry (clean) was in the back seat of my car and i had a nice pair of vicki's underwear on top and the wind blowing in the windows started stirring things up... luckily, my underwear stayed in the car but it was just so funny. i was laughing so hard i was crying (which made it hella difficult to drive). ahh.. funny stuff... good times...

so yeah. i got a new jacket saturday. for about 1/2 of the original price. at american eagle. it's a light khaki peacoat with brown buttons. very cute. i think. when i first tried it on beck referred to me as inspector gadget but then later said the coat was very cute and that she wanted one for herself. i think the jacket's cute, and dodi and her friend jessica assured me that it was but i'm just a little paranoid that i look like inspector gadget every time i wear it.

i saw dreamcatcher that night. the movie was pretty good, but i bet the book was a billion times better. they did a good job making it still sound like a stephen king story. the dialog was pretty much right on. but there were so many things that you could just tell were explained much better in the book. but hey, what can you do? stephen king books are so so so long and go into so much detail... there's no way you could really translate that all into a movie of any normal length. i kinda want to read the book now... before the movie they showed the animatrix, a short CG movie based on the matrix story. it was pretty cool. at the beginning there's this asian chick and this black guy fighting with swords that's pretty cool, but she ends up getting stripped down to her bra and thong (with a lot of butt shots) and that was a little unecessary.

I met the usual crew for lunch sunday and Carrie and Amy made my day with a story about how my ex (tim-the-tool) went into the hollywood video where their brother, Mike, works and asked about me. Mike told him I was doing great (which I am, rock!) and Tim said that he misses me. Ha! I'm so so so the winner. He sucks. He doesn't have the right to miss me anyway. and it's funny that he does, 'cause I don't miss him at all. I am so much better off without him, and if I ever do run into him again, I'd thank him for doing me the huge favor of getting out of my life because it's a billion times better now. rock! i'm the winner!
